Elite, the leading enterprise SaaS platform purpose-built for the legal industry, today announced that CEO Mark Dorman has been recognized as the ‘CEO of the Year’ in the latest LegalTech Breakthrough Awards.

The annual LegalTech Breakthrough Awards are conducted by LegalTech Breakthrough, a leading independent market intelligence organization that evaluates and recognizes standout legal technology companies, products, and services around the globe. Award recipients are evaluated and empirically assessed by a panel of independent industry experts against criteria that include innovation, performance, and impact, among others.

In recognizing Dorman as the 2025 CEO of the Year, LegalTech Breakthrough noted that his “appointment catalyzed a significant evolution” and had “positioned Elite to offer a cloud-first SaaS focus to support customers.”

Since taking the helm at Elite in 2023, Dorman has been a driving force behind its dramatic transformation from an 80-year-old legacy company to a powerhouse of innovation in the legaltech industry, culminating in its recent acquisition by Francisco Partners in August 2025.

Under his leadership, Elite has scaled an industry-first multi-tenant cloud SaaS platform that now serves as the financial heart for the legal industry, processing over $68 billion in annual transactions. Elite also acquired and fully embedded B2B payments platform Tranch, now Elite Payments, enhancing invoicing and payment processes for customers with users reporting time-to-payment reductions of up to 40%. In addition, the company announced a number of new innovations including Elite Validate™, a purpose-built, AI-powered billing compliance solution that transforms and optimizes how law firms manage adherence to Outside Counsel Guidelines (OCGs).

As a result, Elite has seen a 75% increase in SaaS subscription usage in 2025 to date, as it supports a growing number of customers making the move to the cloud with its market-leading financial and practice management solution. More widely, Elite solutions are now trusted by 2,000+ law firms, including 75% of the Am Law 100 and 72% of the Global 100.

“This recognition reflects the extraordinary transformation Elite has achieved over the past two years,” said Mark Dorman, CEO of Elite. “It’s a testament to our team’s relentless focus and to our customers who are redefining how the world’s leading law firms operate. Together, we’ve built a platform that powers billions in transactions, drives measurable performance gains, and proves that innovation and trust can move the legal industry forward.”

“The fruits of Mark’s transformational leadership are clear to see, as he drives Elite to power the world’s top law firms and reshape the future of an entire industry,” added Bryan Vaughn, Managing Director at LegalTech Breakthrough.
