Partner at UK Firm Says Elite’s Always-on Time Captures 10-15% More Time

Fewer Gaps, More Captured Time

Before adopting the Always-on Time solution, one partner at a UK law firm kept doing what he'd always done: a paper record of his day, transferred into Workspace by hand. The paper system seemingly worked, but what it couldn't do was tell him what it had missed.

"It was very difficult to identify and populate any gaps on my paper record," he says. Time worked but never written down doesn't just disappear from a timesheet — it disappears from the firm's realization, and from the recognition the person who did the work should get for it.

The Always-on Time solution now closes that gap for him, literally: "I generally do not have any significant gaps in my time record, ensuring I have captured all my working time," he says. His estimate: 10 to 15% more time captured daily.

That shows up downstream, too. "There are certainly fewer missed entries, and therefore better realization, because time is captured more completely," he notes. The value, for him, is upstream of billing, in making sure the time was recorded to begin with.

When asked to describe the value, he says "Passive Time Capture ensures that I prevent lost time, ensuring all time is fully and accurately captured." And asked how he'd explain the impact, he kept it just as direct: "Avoiding lost time. That benefits both the firm but also ensures that time recording colleagues get due recognition and reward for the time they work on cases and transactions."

That's the case for passive time capture in one line — not that it replaces judgment, but that it catches what judgment alone misses. In his case, that's worth 10 to 15% of a day, recovered without changing how he works.
