ProLaw XII Fully Integrates with WestlawNext for Direct Access to Next Generation Legal Research
Combining Two Proven, Industry-Leading Solutions Offers New Levels of Efficiency for Law Firms
Los Angeles, Aug. 26, 2011 – ProLaw® XII, the newly designed version of the leading One Office™ financial and practice management system from Thomson Reuters, now integrates with WestlawNext™ with WestSearch technology, the world’s most advanced legal search engine. WestlawNext leverages over 100 years of West’s editorial analysis of the law and provides intelligent research tools such as the ability to share research through Folder Sharing. WestlawNext was selected as the “2011 New Product of the Year” by the American Association of Law Libraries for innovation and improving the legal research process.
“ProLaw has always been integrated with Westlaw®, and most recently WestlawNext, to streamline docketing and provide convenient legal research directly from the context of a matter. Integrating the latest generation of each platform now provides a whole new level of efficiency for our ProLaw clients,” Cary Burch, chief operating officer for Elite. “We are excited to enable firms to take advantage of the latest technology platforms available on the market today from two proven and powerful solutions.”
ProLaw XII users can now experience the benefits of WestlawNext for in-context legal research, comprehensive legal calendaring, and cost recovery – without ever leaving ProLaw. WestlawNext has dramatically improved searching, paired with an intuitive interface and options to better organize and analyze results.
ProLaw XII combines the most current rules sets from West with court docketing and case management for a comprehensive legal calendaring solution that’s integrated with WestlawNext and Westlaw. Users eliminate the need to key thousands of individual calendar entries manually, avoid missing critical court deadlines or required filings and manage statute of limitations requirements effectively with reliable rules.
In-context legal research is easy and efficient from within ProLaw XII cases because users can search WestlawNext and Westlaw databases related to a matter with one click, automate multiple steps in the search process and keep track of critical information on the matter level, such as expert witness profiles, opposing counsel records and related information.
Firms are also able to simplify cost recovery with a streamlined pass-through of WestlawNext and Westlaw charges for client billing. To learn more about the integration between ProLaw XII and WestlawNext, click here.
