ProLaw Now Captures More Time, Eases e-Mail Handling and Improves e-Filing
LOS ANGELES, Feb 2, 2009 – ProLaw continues to enhance its fully integrated front-and-back office solution with several new features that help attorneys work more efficiently while managing their cases and matters.
The ProLaw enhancements for attorneys focus on their work in Microsoft and Adobe desktop software. Now a user can attach to matters in ProLaw both e-mails and their attachments directly from Outlook. And users also can capture spreadsheets from Microsoft Excel and easily attach them to the relevant matters, resulting in automated, simple case and matter management with fewer incomplete files.
To make time entry easier, ProLaw also now allows attorneys to enter billable time from throughout the ProLaw application, so it can be captured in the moment, without disrupting workflow. E-filing court documents is also more efficient, because ProLaw documents can be selected, optionally converted to PDF, renamed and saved to an external location in a single step.
"Attorneys everywhere are simply overwhelmed with the volume of e-mails, attachments and other documents that come across their desktop, and they need to track their time more accurately while dealing with all this information,” said Matt DeVoll, vice president and general manager, ProLaw. “These Profiling enhancements are powerful additions to ProLaw’s proven case management capability.”
Additional ProLaw enhancements help corporate legal departments and government agencies manage their outside counsel expenses. For example, ProLaw now helps legal departments differentiate between submitted and approved amounts, and track key dates during the review process to determine the status of an invoice. To ensure accuracy, adjustments can be made at the detailed transaction record level.
Enhancements to ProLaw’s Collections functionality provide government agencies and subrogation practices with improved handling of interest, generating payment plans and the ability to void payments for insufficient funds. The correspondence with delinquencies also is automated through seamless integration with ProLaw's document assembly and docketing features.
