Most Adopted E-billing Solution Continues Expansion while Meeting Client Enhancement Requests

Jun. 4, 2019

eBillingHub®, the pioneer and leading electronic billing solution from Thomson Reuters designed specifically for law firms, today announced the launch of the eBillingHub API Platform. The platform opens the door for clients to expand eBillingHub functionality and data access in new ways that can help streamline workflows and improve the entire billing process.

The API Platform is an open set of tools that allows firms to coordinate, collaborate, and combine eBillingHub with other software platforms that firms deem valuable. The tools allow firms to build new functionality or improve on what is already in place. For example, firms can integrate eBillingHub workflows into other systems to automate processes, eliminate the need for multiple systems, and reduce the chance of errors.

The new API Platform now offers four components, consisting of Validation API, a component to check invoice or time entry data against clients’ outside counsel guidelines; Submission API, a component to deliver LEDES files to clients based on invoice data received; Attachment API, a component to add files to the delivery of LEDES files to clients; and Status API, a component to view the current and historical status of an invoice. Additionally, Thomson Reuters has plans to expand the eBillingHub API Platform in the future.

“We know our clients’ e-billing needs are complicated, and we are continually striving to help make it a more efficient and successful process for our clients,” says Greg Nilsen, manager, Product Management eBillingHub. “We are a leader in the industry, processing more than 4.5 million invoices annually and continually growing that by at least 10% each year to help meet our customers’ needs and demands. With 75% of Am Law 200 firms using eBillingHub, many firms are counting on us to provide product innovation and enhancements that will make billing processes more effective and accurate. That’s exactly what the eBillingHub API Platform does, and we’re very excited to offer these tools to our clients.”
