Thomson Elite Rebrands Business Intelligence Product Line
Elite Reporting and Analytics Foundation reflects updated structure of business unit
LOS ANGELES, Feb. 5, 2008 – A new strategic alignment of the business intelligence portion of Thomson Elite has guided a rebranding of the company’s flagship product in the business intelligence segment. Thomson Elite is part of The Thomson Corporation (NYSE: TOC; TSX: TOC) and a worldwide provider of business software to professional services firms.
Thomson Elite has aligned all of the teams dedicated to its business intelligence product line, including product management, development, client implementations, client consulting and support, as part of a unified structure. As a result, product direction is more aligned with client feedback, relationships within the segment are tighter and Thomson Elite has seen increases in product acceptance and client satisfaction.
Elite Reporting and Analytics Foundation, formerly known as Elite Business Intelligence, is now available for general release in Version 2.3. The version number of the current product release continues the numbering scheme of the most recent release from Thomson Elite, Version 2.2, released in May 2007.

Statistics Universes, a new feature introduced in Reporting and Analytics Foundation 2.3, are dashboard-ready metrics stored in a repository. With Statistics Universes, metrics dashboards populate in nearly real-time. This feature also enables tighter integration with Business Objects’ Live Office, which allows report authoring directly from within a Microsoft Office application.
A balancing diagnostic check has been enhanced, which sends alerts to the database administrator during the nightly balancing and data integrity check. When the error has been corrected, the balancing process automatically continues.
In the new release, the OLAP Intelligence tool has been upgraded and renamed Voyager. The improved tool allows agile navigation through complicated data matrices and supports sophisticated data analysis.
Reporting Essentials, a sibling product to Reporting and Analytics Foundation, is simplified to report directly from Elite Enterprise and allows firms to quickly realize the benefits of simple implementation. For firms with more comprehensive needs, Reporting and Analytics Foundation offers a full data warehouse, data integrity checking, integration of other disparate data sources, integration of Elite security and many advanced report authoring and distribution features.
