Elite Enterprise 3.7 Helps Firms Manage the Business of Law
Expanded feature set provides myriad new financial and practice management capabilities
LOS ANGELES, October 16, 2007 -Thomson Elite has announced the general availability of Elite® Enterprise Version 3.7, the newest release of the company's client-server financial and practice management system for legal and professional services firms. Enterprise 3.7 offers scores of new features, including statutory compliance for global firms, volume discounts, anti-money laundering measures, updated tax reporting, improved record label printing and three-tier conflicts reporting.
"This version of Enterprise takes a global perspective as we continue to serve our growing international customer base," said Dan Tacone, senior vice president, Thomson Elite. "The comprehensive collection of capabilities furthers our goal to help firms manage the business of law so they can prosper in the practice of law."
Elite Enterprise 3.7 fulfills many of the statutory needs of Thomson Elite's global clients by providing statutory compliance in nearly 20 countries, including 12 nations in Europe and five in the Asia-Pacific region. International organizations will no longer need to invest in custom reports or programming to adhere to statutory requirements.
Volume discounts can be set to track work for bill adjustments or automatically set discounts on new work put into the system, according to firm-defined policies. The feature includes thresholds for multiple tiers of rates and data types, such as work-in-process, billed or forecast charges.
The anti-money laundering function allows firms to specify at the country, client and matter levels if cash receipts through the billing or trust system can be accepted. Updates to tax reporting include the ability to handle cash or accrual-based systems, two-tier tax reporting, as well as a breakdown of work based on tax region for European Union reporting needs.
Enterprise 3.7 introduces three-tier conflicts reports, in which each tier displays progressively more detailed information about conflict search results. The summary section displays the names searched and the hits found. The basic section shows details about each search result, while the matter detail section provides a matter-centric view and full detail of the related parties and other matter-related data.
Additionally, the "Print Queued Labels" feature in Elite Records Manager has been enhanced to allow office-level and individual user filtering. Data columns have also been added to the label queue spreadsheet for easier and more efficient identification.
