Thomson Reuters Acquires Super LawyersThomson Reuters acquired Super Lawyers on February 1, 2010 from Key Professional Media. Super Lawyers will be aligned with the Business of Law segment of Thomson Reuters Legal and will complement the FindLaw and Hubbard One client development businesses. FindLaw and Super Lawyers are two of the best and most respected names in the legal community, and by aligning they become even stronger brands in the marketplace. Super Lawyers has established a highly regarded attorney-peer rating system to provide additional decision support for people seeking an attorney. The Super Lawyers rating system is a trusted, credible source for consumers and will now be a service of Thomson Reuters. Unlike other rating systems, attorneys on the Super Lawyers list are selected by their peers and do not pay to participate in the selection process. SuperLawyers.com is a nationwide listing of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. Super Lawyers is published as a special supplement in leading newspapers and city and regional magazines across the country. Super Lawyers magazine features articles about attorneys named to the Super Lawyers list and is distributed to attorneys, the lead corporate counsel of Russell 3000 companies and the ABA-approved law school libraries. The acquisition means exciting opportunities for Findlaw clients to leverage both brands and services to further distinguish themselves to consumers with legal needs. FindLaw customers will not experience any change in their products, services or overall experience. Future plans include the ability for attorneys on the Super Lawyers list to be identified on the FindLaw lawyer directory. |
