Thomson Elite Names Jeff Schuett Chief Technology Officer

Thomson Elite has named Jeff Schuett chief technology officer. In his new position, Schuett will be responsible for the overall technology vision for Elite and will guide its software development, quality assurance and product rollout efforts.

"Jeff has the right blend of knowledge and expertise to drive our technology strategy," said Steve Buege, president and CEO, Thomson Elite. "His skills in leading and motivating global teams and developing award-winning applications will be invaluable to Thomson Elite as we continue our growth."

Schuett replaces Jesus Ortiz, who was recently appointed vice president, Global Deployment Strategy, a newly created role on Thomson Elite's executive committee.

Schuett has extensive experience in the legal, retail, healthcare, telecommunications, high-tech and higher-education industries. His background includes developing and implementing enterprise resource planning (ERP), practice management, ePayments and unified communications applications. Schuett also has broad international experience from managing business activities in more than 35 countries.

Schuett comes to Elite from AVST, a VC-funded software developer, where he served as executive vice president of Client Services and Operations. He has also held executive roles at VantageMed, NEC Solutions, Trintech, Rapidigm and Integral Systems. Schuett holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration, management information systems, from Washington State University and a Master of Business Administration degree in finance from St. Mary's College in Moraga, Calif.
