Elite Introduces ProLaw XII – Built on .NET Technology with Smarter Reporting, Outlook Integration

ProLaw XII helps firms manage, work and run smarter

Los Angeles, May 3, 2011 – Elite, part of Thomson Reuters, announced the release of ProLaw XII, a newly designed version of the leading One Office™ financial and practice management system, built entirely on the Microsoft® .NET platform, and featuring enhanced reporting features and integration with Microsoft Outlook® to help automate the practice and manage the business of law.

With ProLaw XII, law firms, government agencies and corporate legal departments now have advanced tools to help them manage smarter, with interactive reports that access all relevant case, client and financial information. Firms also can work smarter with access to ProLaw directly from Microsoft Outlook, and customers can capture time automatically and file information to ProLaw with one click.

“ProLaw earned its initial reputation as a pioneering solution that truly integrated financial and practice management functionality,” said Cary Burch, chief operating officer for Elite. “Now, ProLaw XII provides a modern technology platform and powerful features that give firms higher visibility into the health of their business for a distinctively competitive edge. We’ve built ProLaw XII so firms can manage, work and run smarter.”

ProLaw XII’s Microsoft .NET platform ensures a higher level of interoperability between Microsoft applications, such as Outlook, Word® and Excel®, while also offering the full power of reporting tools in Microsoft SQL. The most significant enhancements are the real-time reporting capabilities that offer deeper insight into key performance and profitability metrics. ProLaw XII reports are interactive so users can drill down to details while maintaining big picture analysis. Powerful standard report templates allow users to easily create and edit ad hoc reports with the ability to drag-and-drop information from all areas of ProLaw. Easy-to-analyze charts and graphs help firms share data and make more informed decisions.

ProLaw XII’s time-saving “Pro Filing” enhancements allow users to save emails and attachments to the relevant matter in ProLaw with one click and without leaving Outlook. Plus, the new attorney-friendly Outlook View allows users to view information and manage ProLaw events directly from Outlook. ProLaw XII also offers more automatic time capture features, such as automatic timers available in ProLaw, Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe®, and pop-ups to remind users to submit time.

According to Michael Shufeldt, IT director at Cosgrave Vergeer Kester LLP, a ProLaw XII beta client, “We are very pleased that ProLaw is now using Microsoft’s SQL Reporting Services as it provides a very powerful tool for reporting customizations above and beyond what was possible in previous versions. Plus, the enhanced integration with Outlook, like the ability to Pro File a sent email in Outlook with one click, saves time and improves efficiency.”

ProLaw is an integrated software suite designed to automate the practice and manage the business of law. Comprehensive features simplify, streamline and coordinate the work of attorneys and staff in small and mid-size law firms, corporate legal departments and government law offices. Built entirely on .NET, ProLaw combines case and matter management as well as time entry, billing and accounting capabilities within a single integrated solution.
