Elite Scholar Day classes provide focused training that enables participants to gain in-depth understanding of significant functional areas within their Elite solution. Students will have a dedicated PC where interaction with the software cements learned concepts. Scholar Day classes are scheduled for June 18, 2010 with separate sessions available for both Elite Enterprise and Elite 3E.

Registration Policies: A minimum number of participants must register for each Scholar Day class. Should a class’s enrollment minimum not be met by mid-April, the class will be cancelled and the fee refunded to registrants.

SCHOLAR DAY CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

ENTERPRISE - WEBVIEW

Course Overview: This intermediate level application training class is intended to provide a thorough tutoring in the four most popular areas of WebView; inquiry, time entry, proforma generation and expenses. The session includes lecture, interactive discussions, hands on workshops and retention exercises.

Target Audience: This class is appropriate for users who have a basic familiarity with WebView and Elite Enterprise.

Goals and Objectives:

  • Inquiry – Find out how to design screens to easily present and access WIP and AR balances as well as simplify navigation for users.
  • Time Entry – Learn about the daily time entry page, timecard lists and reporting, direct time entry and timers.
  • Proforma Generation and Edit – Discover the numerous proforma features available in WebView and how you can incrementally deploy them.
  • Expenses – Learn how WebView’s expense tracking capabilities can help you automate your expense reporting process.

ENTERPRISE - FRAMEWORK TOOLS

Course Overview: This class will provide in-depth coverage of the Elite Enterprise “Tools” menu functions and how they can be used to enhance and customize the Enterprise experience for your users. The session will focus mainly on the functions that will impact the user interface including Data Dictionary Manager, Message Manager, Label Preferences, Query Builder, Multi Query Builder and Tree View Editor. Error and log viewing will be covered to allow users to understand how the application tracks their actions and how the logs can be used to troubleshoot any issues a user may have. The session will also include a brief overview of the Options menu item to convey their importance on overall features and functions the various Enterprise applications. The session includes lecture, interactive discussions and hands-on workshops.

Target Audience: Database administrators, directors, department managers and supervisors and super users.

Goals and Objectives:

  • Data Dictionary Manager, Message Manager, Label Preferences – Understand how and why they are used.
  • Tree View Editor – Learn how to create tree views for specific users or user groups.
  • Query Builder/Multi Query Builder – Explore the basics of Enterprise queries. Learn how they can be enhanced to meet firm needs and user expectations and discover how to create and deploy new queries.
  • Logging – Become aware of the purpose of logs, how to interpret them and how they can be enabled/disabled.
  • Options – Become familiar with the basics of VB Options and the impact they can have on the user experience.

ENTERPRISE - DATABASE STRUCTURES

Course Overview: Gain an understanding of the Elite database structure, table relationships and how to gather data. Learn how Billing Manager transactions move through the transaction tables and how they flow through to the summary tables and inqsnap views. Examine what tables hold this information and how these tables are linked together in Elite’s Enterprise relational database. Basic SQL query techniques will be utilized to view data and reinforce the structure of the Elite Enterprise relational database.

Target Audience: Database administrators, billing managers, financial analysts and super users.

Goals and Objectives: 

  • Identify the reference and transactional tables that make up the Elite Enterprise billing system.
  • Understand the life cycle of transactions in the billing system.
  • Become familiar with the summary tables and their structure.
  • Gain basic SQL query knowledge to mine data from Elite Enterprise Billing Manager.

ENTERPRISE - BILLING HIGHLIGHTS FOR MANAGERS

Course Overview: This highly sought after class focuses on providing financial managers and financial system support staff with a deeper understanding of the Elite Enterprise Billing Manager application. The class will enable participants to better manage their system and the processes that impact the data stored within for optimal results. The class is intended for those who need a deeper understanding of how billing system best practices are applied within a firm and how not adhering to them can impact the firm's management reporting processes. Guided lectures, group discussions, training documentation and hands on workshops support an interactive learning experience.

Target Audience: Financial managers, controllers, accounting managers and financial system support staff that work with or manage others that use the billing modules within Elite Enterprise.

Prerequisite: This class does not provide an introduction to Elite Enterprise. Users that are new to Enterprise or need to understand Enterprise fundamentals are encouraged to enroll in the Elite Enterprise Basic Application Training Boot Camp prior to attending this session.

Goals and Objectives:

  • Learn how key Elite Enterprise set-ups and processing impact both management and financial reporting.
  • Review the capabilities of Precost from cost entry through loading of manual checks. Learn how to identify and manage the process of correcting invalid entries. Preview Precost’s WebView integration
  • Obtain an overview understanding of billing rates with an emphasis on applying and managing exception rates.
  • Understand the impact that billing rate exceptions have on WIP, realization and management reports.
    Review the capabilities of Proforma Generation and Proforma Edit for timely and accurate bill processing.
  • Learn how the processing of billing adjustments and cash receipts can impact management reporting.
  • Gain an understanding of the various advance billing methods available in Enterprise including split, joint and multi-payor billing, as well as, fixed and flat fee billing.
  • Explore Enterprise standards reports and inquires and learn how to leverage this valuable information.

ELITE 3E - REPORTS AND METRICS

Course Overview: This in-depth application training class is intended to provide an intensive exploration of how a firm can use Elite 3E Reports and Metrics and provide an understanding of the tools, information, and components necessary to plan and develop a firm’s reporting strategy. The session includes lecture, interactive discussions, hands on workshops and retention exercises.

Target Audience: Finance managers, IT managers, finance users and application specialists.

Goals and Objectives:

  • Master the terminology and components of 3E Reports and Metrics.
  • Review the reports, metrics and inquiries available to view business critical data directly from 3E.
  • Understand how metrics are updated and best practices for scheduling runs.
