Thomson Reuters Elite Continues Support of Public Counsel with Cary Burch to Join Board of Directors

Thomson Reuters Elite President Named Member of Public Counsel’s Board of Directors to Continue More than a Decade’s Worth of Contributions to their Cause

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 18, 2012 – Thomson Reuters Elite today announced that President Cary Burch has become a member of the board of directors for Public Counsel, the nation’s largest pro bono law firm that provides vital legal services for free to those in need. Public Counsel’s board of directors is comprised of respected representatives from large law firms across the nation and globe.

For more than a decade, Thomson Reuters Elite has supported Public Counsel to provide much needed legal services to vulnerable communities throughout California. Most significantly, Thomson Reuters Elite has provided Public Counsel with ProLaw® software free of charge since 2001. The solution has helped Public Counsel standardize processes to maintain accurate and complete data, and create a more collaborative work environment to better handle complex cases.

ProLaw has been used to track almost all aspects of the attorney-client relationship including more than 150,000 matters and contacts. ProLaw’s reporting capabilities help Public Counsel accurately report on the demographics of clients and volunteers. Since extending its support to full sponsorship in 2010, Thomson Reuters Elite has facilitated access to a suite of different WestlawNext® content, provided products and services to help with Public Counsel’s library needs, and contributed technology support and assistance to help with Public Counsel’s technological needs
